At the far south of Maldives, just below the equator lies the island atoll of Fuvahmmulah. It’s tropical woodlands, wetlands, freshwater lakes and pebble beaches are unlike anything else in the Maldives. This atoll boasts the most diverse coral ecosystems in the country with its healthy habitats and unique coral sand beach formations. In 2020 UNESCO declared approximately 1300 hacters around the reefs of Fuvahmmulah a Biosphere reserve.
This is understated, not opulent luxury. Simple, practical and imperfectly elegant.
