The island of Fuvahmmulah is fast becoming the most recognised dive hotspot in the world. This little known gem at the equator is teeming with rich pelagic diversity where on a good single dive you are guarenteed at least 7 rare sharks and an abundance of marine life. The reef of Fuvahmmulah tempts with an underwater world of magnificent tiger sharks, thrasher, whale sharks, black oceanic mantas, mobulas and offers a thrilling 15 dive spots around this paradise island. Rising directly above the seabed in the Indian Ocean this island atoll is an ecosystem by itself.

1. Fari Kede

Great for predatory fish, reef, thresher and tiger sharks, oceanic mantas, mola molas
One of the grandest attractions for divers coming to Fuvahmulah, also a Protected Marine Area. This is the submerged reef that stretch outward from the southern tip of the island. Top of the reef ranges from 10 to 15 meters and slopes off into the big blue. The area is home to the most diverse range of pelagic species an observer can have on a single dive. 2. Tiger Shark Dive

Great for Tiger Sharks, Silver Tip reef sharks, Giant Trevallies and Snappers
This site is located just at the entrance of the island Harbor. The top reef is 6 meters deep and it slopes down to 30 meters and beyond on the drop off. Since the construction of the Harbor in 2004, the fishermen have discarded the fish waste in the surrounding waters. 3. Maaneyre

Great for fish life, coral, and blue.
Used as a landing beach before the construction of the harbor. This reef is decorated with many species of hard corals that start from the top reef at 12 meters and slopes down into the deep ocean. Colorful reef fish happily swim along to the flow of the ocean currents that bring rich nutrients vital to a healthy reef. Continue reading at olige.store

4. Hudhu Kede

Great for hard corals, reef fish, Trigger fish, Wrasses, Hawksbill Turtles
Located on the North Eastern corner of the island. The top reef starts at 6 meters and slopes down to 30 meters plus. The hard corals are abundant with numerous species of colorful reef fish accompanying them. Varieties of Trigger fish, Wrasses, Surgeon fish and Parrot fish can easily be spotted at a single glance.
